We will see...

Well, I thought it had stopped, turns out I was wrong. What is it with people and the need to poke at other people.

I tried leaving the messages and trackbacks open again...I got hit with those #$#@ poker sites again.

This time I sent a request to the site's admin asking for help. I'm hoping that it will help, but I'm willing to bet my next paycheck that I will end up on 6 million (or so) new email address spam lists. I hope not, and I really hope the admin for the site helps to stop it.

Yargh!!!!

That being said, How's the rest of the world???

Yeah, they make a big difference - not so much in stopping problems (there are some plugins for the upgraded system that work well there) but in allowing you to manage tham after the fact. For instance, there are screens where you can access all comments, or all trackbacks instead of having to go through each entry.

Yuck!
I can see why the new version of MT has the new management tools.

Ah - you are never a low priority for me, darling. Good luck with the admin for the other, though - I've been fighting it for months with little luck. Quick work on deleting trackbacks keeps my blog pretty clean but you should see my refer list (http://www.villasantiago.com/refer/) for an idea of what we actually get hit with in a day - even one's that don't leave anything but that mark behind. It's disgusting, and that's with a lot of the blocked at the htaccess level!

It wasn't you that I sent the email to. It was the Admin for the site that I keep getting trackback spam from.

I'm not worried about being a low priority for my admin. I know she has other things on her plate, and will get to me eventually. tounge

As the admin for the site, let me say: there's very little you can do about trackback spam (unless you want to change all of your file names and all associated programming that goes with them) other than delete it once it's there. Closing older entries helps and you've already done that. Trackbacks don't pick up your email information - bot take it directly off of you site. While your email address does not appear directly on the site, many robots today are smart enough to decipher the way it IS written. What this means is: trackback spam, while annoying, will not increase the number of mailing lists your on.

The admin for the site is more than willing to provide you with any help she can. She is sorry you're not on the top of her priority list over paying clients. If you would like to BE a paying client, we can change that.
