Ever have 1 of those days?
Talk about fustrating days...
first work...but why talk about something I can't stand. Suffice it to say that I came very close to telling my boss to "take this job & shove it"!
I'm making Key Lime Pies tonight for the convention this weekend, RelaxaCon. I only make these pies about once a year, so I forget things...like the bigger shells take more filling. So, instead of 3 pies, I only have 2, currently. I need to have 5 by 3pm tomorrow. I guess I'm running out to the store in the morning. The other half has the car at work so I can't go even if I wanted to. I guess I should be glad that I found extra pie crusts...see, I found out I didn't have enough filling for three by trying to fill all 3 at once, ended up taking the filling out of the third and fillling in the first 2. Smaller crusts coming up :)
Murf! Oh well, guess that's what I get for not making them as often as I should.
Going to bed soon, so I can get up early to head for the store...
Nite all!

Kiss & Ride?
Okay, this is for those people in any city where there is a peole moving system that has a drop off point.
What's with people parking all over the place?
Here's the thing...here in the DC area, we have the Metro, and each of the stations has a drop off section that they have affectionately called the Kiss & Ride. This is where you drive through and drop someone off. You don't park and wait, you drop off. Kind of like your parents did when you were little and they were taking you to school.
They have metered parking spaces that are long enough for 2 cars, if the first car pulls up to the very front of the space. What's been happening recently is that people aren't pulling in far enough, and others are just parking sideways while they wait for the person they are picking up.
Yesterday, while I was waiting for my ride to arrive, I watched a line of cars about 15 long block the entrance to the Kiss & Ride, just because they saw others parked this way. No one could get through. It was a mess. All because someone decided not to circle while waiting for whomever it was they were waiting for.
Its not designed for large numbers of cars to sit and wait, its designed for people to drive through and drop off/pick up someone. Why must humans be so insensitive to others as to park their car? Why can't they just keep moving? Are they afraid that the person they are picking up is going to leave without them? They have the car!
I just don't get it! Move the car, don't park it! Maybe we need to have people directing traffic here like they did at the schools. There's a thought! Where's that suggestion box...pardon me, please, I have to go and make a suggestion :)
Saturday Scruples!
Its time for the Saturday Scruples! Thanks Phoxxe!
1. You're an M.D. A patient asks you for a sick note. She took time off work to visit a daughter who just had a baby. Do you provide the note? I guess it would depend on a few things. How long has she been a patient? What kind of relationship do we have? that kind of thing, but as a general rule, probably not.
2. In a supermarket, you send dozens of packages tumbling into the aisle. No one sees you. Do you tip toe away? No. I would at least make the attempt to pick them back up. At least that's what I've done in the past.
3. A colleague is out of her office. You notice her paycheck stub on her desk. Do you glance at it? Not deliberately.
Friday Five
Okay, so its a day late :) But, it's soo cool! I can do this again!
Its my Friday Five! Thanks Heather!
1. What is your current occupation? Is this what you chose to be doing at this point in your life? Why or why not? Intermediate Litigation Support Specialist. Not what I had planned on doing. A position like this didn't exist when I was younger, and I never really wanted to get into the Legal field.
2. If time/talent/money were no object, what would your dream occupation be? Oh Wow, I don't know. So much has changed in the last few years that I really don't know what I want to do.
3. What did/do your parents do for a living? Has this had any influence on your career choices? Mom works at Wal-Mart and Dad works, currently, for the FAA. When I was little, Mom worked as a Secretary/Bookkeeper and Dad was a sheet-metal mechanic for National Airlines. I used to want to be a stewardess, but that changed. I guess their job choices have affected mine, but I'm not real sure to what degree.
4. Have you ever had to choose between having a career and having a family? no.
5. In your opinion, what is the easiest job in the world? What is the hardest? Why?Easiest? I haven't the vaguest clue. Hardest? Toss up between Mom and salesperson in a store. Mom's never have it easy, of course they have the best reward package I've ever seen :), but a salesperson...they have to deal with people that don't know what they want, don't want to be told that what they are trying on looks horrible, and can't be bothered to be polite to others. (Can you tell that I did this for a couple of years?)
